CHRIS HUTCHINS | B.A. (Hons) Fine Art

Born in 1956, Chris trained at the Norwich School of Art before graduating from the Hornsey School of Art.

Probably best known for his extensive range of highly detailed pencil prints of Norfolk and Suffolk, Chris is also a skilled pastel artist and life drawer. A traditionalist when it comes to drawing, he believes that an ability to draw confidently is still the basis of most good art.

Chris has taught drawing for over 20 years and holds two Monday classes in the Broadland Youth and Community Centre in his local village of Hoveton, at the heart of the Norfolk Broads.

In 2016 Chris left Wroxham Barns Craft Centre, where he was resident artist and had a workshop and gallery for over 30 years. He now concentrates on developing his art, especially his pastels of the Norfolk Broads and also his fine life drawings. He is also happy to do more art teaching and pass on his knowledge and skills to other artists.
